The doctor said that I should begin taking my anti-malaria medicine two days before departure and "Holy Cow" it's two days before departure! So, I took the pill! Well, and would you look at all that stuff that is supposed to fit into a suitcas, and there is still more to go in there like gifts for the hosts (very important) my alb and stole for those official church functions, oh yea, and maybe a candy bar (or two).
Mr Tom Baer from the church will be whisking us off to the Detroit airport right after church on Sunday, November 1st. Our plane leaves Detroit at 4:00 p.m. and arrives Amsterdam at about 6:00 a.m. on Monday morning (please tell me there is a significant time difference betwee Detroit and Amsterdam!) Then from Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro, another serveral hour plane ride. I'm thinking about getting one of those steering wheels one might put on a childs car seat, that I could hang over the seat in front of me just so I might pretend that I was in control.Ha!!
Please know that I will keep this blog as current as I can, and please continue to keep us all in your prayers. God bless you!
Pastor Dale
Hi Pastor Dale, We will be keeping up with you on here. So cool to be able to read about what you are/will be doing. Prayers for a safe trip have been said! I think you should talk to Jamee about packing light :) .. She learned not to take too many shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou and Wellington will be in our prayers at least each day. Love, Belva and Gerry
